NOTICE TO HIGH DESERT RESIDENTS

Although our facility may not accept certain e‑waste, we strongly encourage all community members to dispose of these items properly. The City of Hesperia offers free e‑waste recycling events four times a year, and event dates and details can be found on the City’s official website. For year‑round service, Hesperia residents may dispose of electronic waste at the Hesperia Household Hazardous Waste Facility; location, hours, and accepted items are listed on the City’s website. For non‑Hesperia residents, please check your local city website or contact your local waste management provider for information about e‑waste and household hazardous waste disposal options in your area.

E-WASTE RULES & REGULATIONS

VALID IDENTIFICATION 

Collectors need a valid customer ID for e-waste because every load has to be traceable back to a source (person or business) with a name and address in case there is an audit, a claim, or a problem with the universal waste.
 

LICENSE PLATE NUMBER

Certain e-waste requires the facility to collect a California license plate numbers to show the load is coming from a legitimate California source which supports program rules that prohibit out-of-state e-waste from being claimed in California incentive programs. 

PHONE NUMBER

Collectors ask for a phone number so that the source documentation provides the contact information in case CalRecycle or the DTSC need to contact the  source if there is a question about the load or an audit at a later date.

THE CRV (SW) PRICE LIST BELOW IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE EVERY 6MONTHS (JANAURY 1ST & JULY 1ST)

CRV RULES & REGULATIONS

Title 14, CCR, Division 4, Chapter 3.1 §2500-2599 

DAILY ALLOWABLE COUNT LIMIT

Customers may request to be paid by count for CRV containers per transaction.
Up to 50 containers per material type, any size, for:
     ♻ Aluminum cans
     ♻ Bi-metal cans
     ♻ Plastic bottles (resin codes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7)
     ♻ Glass bottles (regardless of color)
Up to 25 containers per material type, any size, for:
     ♻ Bag-in-box containers
     ♻ Multilayer pouches
     ♻ Paperboard cartons

DAILY ALLOWABLE WEIGHT LIMIT

Customers have a daily load limit per person, per vehicle, per day. 
Up to 100 pounds
 per material type, any size, for:
     ♻ Aluminum cans
     ♻ Bi-metal cans
     ♻ Plastic bottles (resin codes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7)

Up to
1,000 pounds, any size, for:
     ♻ Glass bottles (regardless of color)

Up to
50 pounds, any size, for:
     ♻ Bag-in-box containers
Up to 25 pounds per material type, any size, for:
     ♻ Multilayer pouches
     ♻ Paperboard cartons

Customers who exceed the daily load limit for any single material type must have their entire load rejected. We are not allowed to buy split or partial loads once any limit is exceeded.

SHRINKAGE

Shrinkage applies to dirty/contaminated containers such as rocks, sand, cigarettes, excess liquid, etc. Recyclers reduce refund rate by documented percentage instead of rejecting load; clean loads get full pay.

LABELING REQUIREMENTS

​One of the following messages must be printed or embossed on the container or a clear stamp or label must be affixed to the container to receive full redemption value.

LICENSE PLATE NUMBER

Vehicles with out-of-state license plates are capped at $50 maximum CRV payout per vehicle, per person, per day under California regulations. If the load exceeds $50 in CRV value, recyclers must pay only scrap value for the entire load and cannot split into CRV/non-CRV portions. 

VALID IDENTIFICATION

A valid photo ID for payouts over $100 are necessary to comply with state law AB 1778, aimed at preventing theft and fraud by tracking sellers of large loads. Acceptable forms include a California driver's license, California DMV ID card, or other government-issued photo ID with address

FERROUS METAL PRICE LIST

LICENSE PLATE NUMBER

The license plate number (and state) is needed to track and verify vehicles transporting junk, helping law enforcement prevent theft and illegal activity.

VALID IDENTIFICATION

Businesses need to verify seller IDs to comply with laws, prevent fraud, and maintain transaction records. Acceptable IDs include:
 

  • Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID card

  • Passport with additional ID showing the seller’s address

  • Matricula Consular with additional ID showing the seller’s address


This process helps track transactions, confirm seller identity, and prevent illegal sales.

NON-FERROUS METAL PRICE LIST

NON-FERROUS RULES & REGULATIONS

THREE (3) DAY PAYMENT HOLD

All non‑ferrous metals cannot be paid out on the same day (see posted notice for any exceptions). Your funds will be available on or after the third business day after the sale. A check by mail is available for a $2.00 processing fee.

THREE (3) DAY HOLD EXCEPTION(S)

The three (3) day payment hold does not apply if the non‑ferrous material is worth $20.00 or less in a single transaction when the majority is for the redemption of CRV bottles and cans. This exception does not apply to copper or copper alloys, so only other non‑ferrous metals like aluminum, stainless steel, etc. can be paid the same day.

SELLER PAYMENT EXEMPTIONS

  • Sellers with a current business license.

  • Sellers with a current contractor’s license.

  • Customers who bring in non‑ferrous material at least 5 separate times in a month, for 3 months in a row, qualify for an exempt account. To keep this exemption, customers must continue recycling non‑ferrous material at least 5 times every month going forward.

THUMBPRINT

We will take your thumbprint (as required by law) and store it to your customer file with your sale information in electronic form for at minimum two (2) years.
